Overview:
The Operations Solution Engineer position performs coordination of the work and execution of all support functions for the Sales Department. This position is structured to fulfill the need for support of the outside sales team on sales opportunities, functions of establishing new customers, repeat and non-repeat work, and the emergency services and on call support functions for MEI. This position focuses on organizing and finding solutions utilizing all MEI services based on information supplied by the Sales force related to various customer needs. This position will propose solutions which will add to the revenue growth and ROI of MEI. The Operations Solution Engineer must ensure that all work is handled in a professional manner from estimation through execution of the job to completion, including back-office invoicing and payroll.
Objectives:
- Responsible for significant proposal development and the administrative functions of establishing new customers, repeat and non-repeat work, and emergency services.
- Provide the development of information in such a format to provide ease into order entry: providing accurate and timely entering of orders from external and internal customers.
- Performs coordination of assigned projects and ongoing events for the Operations department.
- Assists management with focus on coordinating the delivery of MEI’s service offerings, including coordination of all information and documentation necessary to effectively and efficiently complete the work; communicating with customers, supervisors, service technicians and drivers; preparing necessary permits; development of estimates; quotes; waste profiles; manifests, coordinating logistical arrangements; and scheduling through the dispatch.
- To support and oversee the on-call support activities and emergency services functions.
- Work with all customer contact personnel to ensure identification of all customer requirements on each job.
- Evaluate all options to execute each job considering MEI and outside factors to meet customer requirements.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Obtain outside costs where appropriate to adequately cost each job.
- Prepare quotes ensuring all anticipated costs are included and appropriate margins per company expectations.
- Follow all regulatory / safety policy requirements when quoting / executing all jobs.
- Consult with internal customers (Dispatch, Field Service, and Facility) to ensure all quotes are thorough and executable for each job.
- Oversee execution of each job, guiding dispatch, field service and consulting with the external customer as needed.
- Ensure all changes for each job are documented, approved, billed.
- Act as a liaison within MEI to ensure all areas serving the external customer are working toward the same outcome. (Sales, Customer Service, Dispatch, Field Service, Facility)
- Provide feedback to Sales regarding any customer issues / future needs.
Qualifications:
- Hazardous Waste Characterization and Profiling experience
- Self-motivated, well organized and demonstrates an ability to influence others.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skills along with the ability to work independently.
- Proficient computer skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; Dynamics SL and Dynamics CRM are a plus.

Education and Training:
- Bachelor of Science degree is required, or ten (10) years Environmental Services industry experience is desired but will consider previous knowledge of a service industry, the waste industry or transportation business.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
