Job Description:
To be eligible to apply for this position, you must be a current student enrolled at McDaniel College. This position is open to both work study and campus employment students.
Position: Student Laboratory Tech
Revision Dates: 2/2025
Reports to: Professor of Psychology
Department: Psychology
Salary Grade: Maryland Minimum Wage
FSLA Status: Non-exempt
Duration of Appointment: 8/7/2024-5/21/2025
Schedule: Schedule is at discretion of supervisor
Evaluation Procedures: Student workers are evaluated on a continuing basis
Scope: Provide support to the Behavioral Neuroscience Lab.
Responsibilities:
- Lab animal care
- Data collection and analyses
- Inventory and organization of lab supplies
- Safety checks
Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Current McDaniel undergraduate
- Psychology major
- Good organizational skills
- Successfully completed PSY2214 Behavioral Neuroscience
Physical Characteristics:
This position may require sitting or standing for long periods of time, as well as some bending and stooping when working with animals and equipment. There is minimal lifting involved with this position. The overall setting of the job is a science laboratory with some office work.
