Responsibilities:
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, ensuring cleanliness and organization
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures by handing them instruments and materials
- Take dental x-rays as directed by the dentist
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures, anticipating their needs and ensuring patient comfort
- Perform basic dental procedures such as taking impressions, applying sealants, and making temporary crowns
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care instructions
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using electronic documentation systems (e.g., Dentrix)
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments, equipment, and treatment rooms following infection control protocols
- Assist with scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and maintaining inventory of dental supplies
Requirements:
-At least one year of dental assistant experience required
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience taking X-Rays ; familiarity with digital imaging systems is a plus
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient privacy
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
