Job Overview:
The IT PMO Senior Project Manager is a pivotal role within our organization, requiring a seasoned professional with at least 8 to10 years of IT project management experience in a large, global company. The successful candidate will possess a deep of and be an expert practitioner of Project Management industry best practices and have a proven track record of leading complex, cross-functional projects to successful completion.
Responsibilities
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closing of IT projects, ensuring alignment with company goals and project objectives
Develop comprehensive project plans that merge customer requirements with company goals and coordinate various managers and technical personnel during all project phases
Oversee a global, cross-functional project team, providing strong leadership and direction to ensure project milestones and deliverables are met
Establish and maintain strong partnerships with project owners and stakeholders, effectively leading projects from the front and ensuring transparent communication
Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources, ensuring efficient allocation and utilization
Conduct regular project reviews and report on progress, risks, and opportunities to executive management and other key stakeholders
Develop timely project status reports
Assure that deviations from the project schedule are addressed and communicated
Monitor project risk factors, escalate project issues, and provide Quality Assurance for all project deliverables
Apply PMI institute's ten key knowledge areas of project management: Integration, Scope, Schedule, Cost, Quality, Resource, Communication, Risk, Procurement, and Stakeholder Management
Drive continuous improvement within the PMO by championing best practices and process enhancements
Utilize strong presentation skills to convey complex project information to executive audiences with clarity and confidence
Foster a collaborative team environment, building strong relationships, and employing active listening, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications and Education:
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a related field
Project Management certification is required (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile)
A minimum of 8 to10 years of IT project management experience, preferably in a large, global company
Proven track record of delivering complex IT projects on time, within budget, and with high customer satisfaction
Exceptional organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong leadership skills with experience in leading global, cross-functional teams
Strong business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges
Ability to inspire, motivate, and guide team members and stakeholders
Highly process-oriented with a keen focus on quality and efficiency
Experience in managing projects within specific IT domains (e.g., IT infrastructure, Enterprise applications for HR, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, & Construction disciplines)
Thorough understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle and Testing Tools
Proficiency in project management software and tools
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Project / Area / Regional Specifics:
This role may require travel both domestically and internationally
Flexibility to accommodate different time zones for global team collaboration
