Job Overview :
The role is for Senior Piping Engineer with responsibility for complex piping engineering design, analysis and development for Onshore Oil & Gas, LNG, and Renewables Industry projects including deliverables such as Piping Material Specification, Piping Specialty Items, required calculations and valve selection activities. Candidate would support Piping Material Requisition, Technical Bid Evaluation, and Vendor Documents review of Piping related items. The work includes conceptual studies, FEEDs, estimates, detail design, and construction support. The successful candidate is able to effectively communicate technical solutions and concepts to other engineers and non-engineers.
Responsibilities
Key Tasks and Responsibilities :
- Responsible for the generation of piping specifications in the Company Material Management system and auxiliary specifications for assigned projects and may act as the Lead Piping Specification Engineer on a project of any size
- Reviews and monitors designs and specifications produced internally or externally for conformance to codes, regulations, and project related specifications
- Responsible for preparing Piping Related Requisitions packages & assist in Preparing Piping Fabrication Sub-Contracting packages
- Prepares piping specifications and piping related calculations. Coordinates with Bill of Material personnel for inputting to Material Control System. Follows practices and procedures as outlined in company quality system, administrative and project execution Manuals
- Helps to generate Technical Bid Tabulations for Piping and Valves
- Helps to generate Piping Specialty Item Data Sheets. Checks inputs to Material Control System
- Mentors junior piping engineering personnel
- Checks new project purchase descriptions utilizing project specifications to meet client or project requirements
- Provides guidance and direction to BOM personnel in the resolution of piping specification problems
- Visits manufacturer's plants as required for major specialty item inspection and jobsite as required for special problems related to specifications
- Interfaces with the 3D CAD support groups to answer questions on piping specifications and piping specialty items
- Participates in the Quality Improvement Process, including improving communications with Department or Project personnel
- Carries out assignments as directed by Department Manager and Principal Piping Engineer
- Strives to ensure customer satisfaction, both internally and externally
