About your role:
The Service Advisor is responsible for assisting customers with service and maintenance requests and selling additional services to customers. This position assists the Service Manager in the operations of the service center by writing up work orders, distributing work to staff, accurately maintaining records, supporting promotional activities, monitoring inventory, and complying with safety and environmental programs and practices.
Essential Duties and Major Responsibilities:
- Oversees service orders and flow of Drive Lane. Ensure that customers receive prompt, courteous, and effective service.
- Assisting customers with service needs and selling additional services to customers.
- Takes ownership of the customer’s experience by carrying out those additional assignments that allow the dealership to leave a positive impression on the customer.
- Provides concierge support for all owner inquiries, whether by phone or in person, to assure the customer is treated with respect and excellent customer service.
- Ensures the daily inventory of technicians’ time is consistently sold to service customers.
- Distributes work between technicians efficiently.
- Answers technical questions about vehicle problems, warranties, services, and repairs.
- Assists in diagnosing vehicle problems and orders parts and tools as necessary.
- Oversees the administration of warranty claims and training and supervises the service department.
- Set schedules and assigns tasks to service department employees.
- Reinforces company policies and adheres to company standards.
- Encourages compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Collaborates with upper management to make service department hiring and discipline decisions.
- Assists with other duties as assigned.
- Follow scheduled hours as defined by your manager.
Education:
- High school degree or equivalent is required.
Type of Experience Needed to be Successful:
- 1-3-years of progressive experience in auto service is preferred.
Specialized Skills:
- Must maintain a valid state driver’s license to drive any customer or company vehicle.
- Demonstrated ability to manage others.
