Responsibilities
- Enforce local, state, and federal laws while maintaining peace and order within the community.
- Conduct thorough criminal investigations, including gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and preparing detailed reports.
- Provide assistance during emergencies and crises, utilizing CPR and first aid skills as necessary.
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies on joint operations and investigations.
- Participate in community outreach programs to build trust and rapport with residents.
- Attend training sessions to stay updated on conflict management techniques, and other relevant topics.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, arrests, and investigations for future reference.
Requirements
- Must possess a valid Missouri P.O.S.T. Certification.
- Minimum 21 Years of age.
- Must possess valid Driver's License.
- Must be a high school graduate or have passed the General Education Development (GED) Test indicating high school graduation level.
- Excellent report writing skills with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to manage conflicts effectively while maintaining professionalism.
- Leadership experience or potential is highly desirable.
- Ability to work in high-pressure situations while remaining calm and composed.
- Must pass background check being free of any felony convictions or misdemeanors involving domestic violence or moral turpitude.
This position is essential for ensuring the safety and security of the community while fostering positive relationships between law enforcement and residents.
Starting pay is approximately $38,000 per year with a 2025 raise expected.
Take home car after FTO and probationary period (within 25 miles of McDonald County).
