What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Engineer position at McDonald Plastic Molding?
SUMMARY
Assist the Plant Manager by supporting day to day operation needs by direct activities and task work or indirectly by compiling information. The central objective is to maximize productivity and continually improve productivity outcomes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform best manufacturing practices as instructed; responsible for creating, establishing, and implementing new best practices.
- Train technical staff on new machinery and troubleshooting.
- Work on processes to improve production efficiencies and reduce high scrap rates.
- Research/identify problems with manufacturing equipment and tooling; devise and implement corrective actions to produce resolutions and provide follow-up.
- Continuous improvement activities to include recommending measures to improving production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Work with current staff to develop complete understanding and knowledge of all machines and their functions.
- Regularly attend and participate in daily production/quality meetings.
- Perform daily follow-up on all workstations to verify production quality and safety standards are met.
- Act as a lead in group and individual safety training to further company safety rules
- Perform other duties as required or directed by management.
