Nursery Production Assistant
McDonald's Nursery is a family-owned company with a rich history. Established in 1929, our retail operations closed in 2019. Today, we focus on growing and cultivating plants to support new initiatives and future plans for our community.
We are seeking a Nursery Production Assistant to help care for plants and trees in our nursery. This role involves hands-on work in plant cultivation, maintenance, and general nursery operations. The ideal candidate will have an interest in horticulture, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
Plant Care & Maintenance

Assist with potting, transplanting, watering, fertilizing, and pruning plants and trees.

Monitor plant health and report any signs of pests, diseases, or environmental stress.

Support pest and disease management efforts following nursery guidelines.

Help maintain proper irrigation schedules and soil nutrition.
Nursery Operations

Keep the nursery organized and clean to promote healthy plant growth.

Assist with inventory management of soil, fertilizers, and other supplies.

Help maintain and operate nursery tools, irrigation systems, and greenhouse equipment.
Sustainability & Compliance

Follow all safety procedures and environmental regulations related to plant care and pesticide use.

Support sustainable nursery practices to minimize waste and conserve resources.
Qualifications & Experience:

Interest or experience in horticulture, plant science, or nursery work.

Basic knowledge of plant care, soil management, and pest control is a plus but not required.

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

Willingness to learn and work in a team environment.
Physical & Work Requirements:

Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly.

Stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
