Job Title: McDonald's Operations Manager

Position Overview: The McDonald’s Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the performance and operational efficiency of multiple McDonald’s restaurants within a designated region or portfolio. This leadership position ensures that all restaurants under their purview are operating at peak efficiency, maintaining high standards of customer service, food quality, and safety. The Operations Manager works closely with the Director of Operations, General Managers, and other key stakeholders to implement strategic initiatives, drive business growth, and improve overall operational performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership:
  • Oversee the daily operations of multiple McDonald's restaurants, ensuring that all locations meet or exceed company standards for quality, service, cleanliness, and speed.
  • Drive operational consistency across all locations by ensuring adherence to McDonald's global standards and best practices.
  • Monitor and evaluate restaurant performance through key metrics such as sales, customer satisfaction, labor costs, and food costs.
  • Collaborate with the senior management team to implement operational improvements and drive continuous performance enhancements.
  • Strategic Planning and Execution:
  • Develop and execute regional operational strategies aligned with the overall goals of McDonald’s corporate and franchise objectives.
  • Analyze operational performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Work with the Owner-Operator, Director of Operations and senior leadership to develop business plans, set performance targets, and meet or exceed profitability goals.
  • Lead special initiatives (e.g., new product launches, local marketing campaigns, new restaurant openings) to ensure successful execution and integration into operations.
  • Team Development and Leadership:
  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of General Managers and restaurant leaders to ensure alignment with McDonald’s values, operational goals, and performance targets.
  • Develop talent within the organization, ensuring that there is a strong pipeline of future leaders.
  • Foster a high-performance culture through continuous employee development, training programs, and performance management.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support the growth of managers and employees.
  • Financial Oversight and Budget Management:
  • Manage regional operational budgets, ensuring that expenses are controlled, and targets are met.
  • Review financial reports, including profit and loss statements, and identify opportunities for cost savings, revenue growth, and efficiency improvements.
  • Work with General Managers to optimize labor scheduling, reduce waste, and ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Monitor and manage restaurant profitability through effective budgeting, cost control, and margin analysis.
  • Customer Service and Quality Assurance:
  • Ensure a superior customer experience by maintaining high standards of service and food quality.
  • Drive customer satisfaction through regular quality audits, feedback, and mystery shopper evaluations.
  • Ensure that restaurants consistently maintain cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency, contributing to a positive guest experience.
  • Compliance and Health & Safety:
  • Ensure that all restaurants are compliant with McDonald's food safety standards, health regulations, and local legislation.
  • Conduct regular inspections of restaurants to ensure adherence to cleanliness, safety, and quality standards.
  • Address any non-compliance issues promptly and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Reporting and Communication:
  • Provide regular updates to the Owner-Operators, senior management, and corporate leadership on operational performance, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Prepare and deliver reports on key performance indicators (KPIs), including sales, profitability, customer satisfaction, and team performance.
  • Act as a liaison between the restaurants and corporate teams, ensuring that corporate policies, promotions, and initiatives are effectively communicated and executed.
  • Innovation and Process Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and operational improvements within the region, promoting the adoption of new technologies, processes, and systems.
  • Drive continuous process improvements across all restaurants to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and McDonald's global strategies to integrate new practices and initiatives into the region.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in operations management, with a strong background in the quick-service restaurant (QSR) or hospitality industry. Experience with McDonald's or a similar global brand is highly preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a diverse team across multiple locations.
  • Exceptional business acumen, with experience managing budgets, financial reports, and operational metrics.
  • Knowledge of restaurant operations, including food safety, quality assurance, cost control, and customer service.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in restaurant management systems, POS systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

Education:

  • McDonald’s corporate training or management development programs are a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to travel frequently to various restaurant locations.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and work in a fast-paced environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $125,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 45 – 50 per week
