What are the responsibilities and job description for the After School Care Aide position at McDonell Area Catholic Schools?
Position Summary: The early childcare aide is responsible for the supervision and care of children. They and working in conjunction with other classroom team members to maintain a safe and developmentally appropriate program in accordance with the policies, procedures, mission, and vision of McDonell Area Catholic Schools.
Qualifications:
- Understands and supports the shared educational mission of the McDonell Area Catholic Schools (MACS)
- Comprehensive background check clearance required
Responsibilities:
- Present a professional image to families, members and the community; this includes public appearances, community roles, and cell phone/Internet use (specifically social media)
- Assist with the planning, setup and instruction of weekly lessons according to a developmentally appropriate curriculum that includes but is not limited to creative art, language, music, dramatic play, math, science, and sensory activities
- Incorporate Christian values within the classroom environment and the curriculum
- At the discretion of the Director, attend all staff meetings, workshops, and seminars to increase knowledge and skills and complete 25 hours of annual continuing education to meet state licensing rules and best practice standards
- Provide leads with a supportive, cooperative classroom environment that includes sharing all routine tasks (cleaning, sanitizing, sorting, filing, and organizing)
- Contribute ideas and expertise to program, management and at staff meetings
- Engage in collaboration with colleagues to problem solve, learn about new information in the field, share teaching tips/ideas or provide best practices
- Openness to adjust to changes in program, scheduling and procedures with support from management
- Follow all policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures
- Complete incident and accident reports as necessary
- May be responsible for opening and/or closing the center and maintaining security and safety of the premises
- Assist in the Early Childhood office with answering the phone and greeting visitors as necessary
- Be punctual and reliable in attendance, paperwork, duties and assignments

Pay: $10.00 - $14.00 per hour
