Our staff is made up of licensed therapists, psychiatrists, nurses, and counselors who offer 24-hour support for our patients. We provide young men with the skills they need to improve their thinking patterns, make healthier choices, and create new futures with improved outlooks and outcomes.
About the role -
McDowell Center for Children is seeking a dynamic and talented Inpatient Master Level Therapist. The Therapist creates a safe environment for residents, provides hope, empowers residents, and teaches new tools for coping to residents. The Inpatient Therapist provides inpatient services under the supervision of the Clinical Director.
Qualifications -
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Clinical/Counseling Psychology or Social Services related field required.
Required Skills -
- Prior experience working with a psychiatric mental health population or residential setting preferred.
- TN. Social Work or Professional Counselor License preferred.
- Prefer candidates who possess knowledge of psychiatric group processes, therapeutic relationships processes, age-specific growth and development, limit setting and behavior management, crisis management with aggressive behaviors.
- Must complete and maintain competency training in CPR, HWC and Verbal De-Escalation – aggression management, crisis intervention and restraint training. Training may be obtained during the first week of employment during new hire orientation.
