Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Medication Aide to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our patients, ensuring their medication needs are met with accuracy and empathy. This position is essential in supporting the overall health and well-being of individuals in senior care facilities, hospitals, or similar environments.
Duties
- Administer medications to patients as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
- Monitor and document vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, to assess patient health.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and facility policies.
- Provide assistance with client ADL's
- Collaborate with nursing staff to communicate any changes in patient conditions or concerns regarding medication administration.
- Complete assigned cleaning tasks
- Ensure a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control practices.
- Assist in dining room when available
- Become proficient in EMAR program
Qualifications
- Knowledge of medical terminology and physiology is essential for understanding patient needs and medication effects.
- Previous experience in senior care or hospital settings is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with medication administration systems and protocols is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for accurate medical documentation.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- A commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
