Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating heavy machinery, including dump trucks, loaders, backhoes, and motor graders. This role is crucial to the success of our construction projects, and we are looking for someone who can operate equipment safely and efficiently. The Equipment Operator will work closely with our project managers and other team members to ensure that our projects are completed on time and to the highest quality.
Duties:
- Operate a range of heavy equipment, including dump trucks, loaders, backhoes, and motor graders, to perform various tasks such as digging, hauling, and lifting heavy materials.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on all equipment to ensure it is in good working condition and meet safety standards.
- Load and unload materials and equipment as needed, and transport them to the project site.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring that all equipment and materials are properly stored and secured.
- Collaborate with other team members to achieve project goals, including communicating effectively and following safety protocols.
- Participate in regular equipment maintenance and perform minor repairs when necessary.
- Conduct daily inspections of the equipment and report any issues or malfunctions to the maintenance team.
Requirements:
- Commercial driving experience and a valid driver's license.
- Proven mechanical knowledge and ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently.
- Experience operating heavy machinery, including dump trucks, loaders, backhoes, and motor graders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Certification in crane operation or other heavy equipment operation is preferred.
- Knowledge of Caterpillar equipment is an asset.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.83 - $26.75 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
