SUMMARY
Perform the following duties to maintain facilities, including streets and rights-of-way of industrial, commercial, public property, or parks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Include but are not limited to the following. This position also includes other duties as required. Some duties may not apply.
- Pick up litter in public right of way and grounds.
- Weed removal and brush cutting.
- Prune ground covers, shrubs, and trees to shape and improve growth or remove damaged leaves, branches, or twigs.
- Plant grass, flowers, trees and shrubs.
- Debris hauling and removal.
- Graffiti removal and vandalism repair.
- Temporary patching of asphalt and concrete surfaces.
- Maintain drainage facilities, including drop inlets, earthen and concrete v-ditches.
- Repair, replace, and install traffic signs.
- Install pavement markers and paint curbs.
- Perform limited spill cleanup.
- Ability to set up, maintain, and remove traffic control devices.
- Ability to fill out a simple daily project report (white tag).
- Ability to use or be trained how to use the equipment typically required of this job title.
- City events (holiday, storms, special), weekends and overtime may be required up to and including uncontrolled on-call.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred.
- Zero to one-year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid California Drivers License. Must have and maintain a good driving record acceptable to the MCE Corporation insurance carrier. Ability to acquire and maintain any additional certificates, licenses, or registration as may be required
