SUMMARY

Perform the following duties to maintain facilities, streets, parks, buildings, and municipalities for the city of Dublin, CA. Effectively grow, support, and provide leadership to the forepersons, supervisors, and laborers within your assigned contracts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and ability required. Other duties may be assigned as mutually agreed upon between the City/Client and MCE or by MCE solely. Some duties may not apply.

  • Oversee all daily functions of MCE crews, developing and reviewing daily, weekly, and monthly schedules with the Supervisor and Forepersons using MMS information.
  • Coordinate emergency response procedures and respond directly to calls or formal service requests from City residents or City/Client staff (See-Click-Fix).
  • Assist in interviewing and recommending employment candidates and provide disciplinary reviews up to and including termination consistent with MCE policies.
  • Understand all subcontractor agreements, supervising work and invoicing, and coordinating the development of individual purchase orders for subcontractors.
  • Provide written correspondence to clients and other agencies regarding maintenance and attend meetings with city/client staff and other agencies at the request of the city/client and MCE management.
  • Work with sports leagues and other facility users to coordinate maintenance activities and uses.
  • Review and provide comments on plans and specifications, inspect landscapes and other facilities to be turned over to the City/Client, and assist with the development of maintenance standards.
  • Assist the Director of Operations Maintenance with the annual budget and estimated expenditures, continuously reviewing planned vs. actual budget expenditures.
  • Review daily time entries for accuracy, monthly billing reports, and update the PVA report monthly
  • Coordinate maintenance activities for special events and City/Client functions and provide routine and cyclical quality control checks on relevant City/Client facilities.
  • Communicate effectively via e-mail and other electronic mediums, using Word, Excel, and other software programs as appropriate.
  • Manage and monitor applicable job and safety training for assigned personnel in conjunction with the Safety Manager and Health & Safety requirements; refer to the Safety Responsibilities section for more details.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises employees performing maintenance for the City/Client. Carries out supervisory responsibilities by the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, including recommending termination, addressing complaints, and resolving problems. Administers all subcontract fieldwork performed by MCE Corporation subcontractors on City/Client property. Directly manages Maintenance Supervisor and assists in direction for that roles supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A./ S.) from a four-year college or university in an appropriate field – preferred
  • Twelve to fifteen years of directly related experience and training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Within the years of experience, ten to fourteen years of landscaping and facilities maintenance.

Job Type: Full-time exempt

Salary: $83,000 to $104,000 per year
