Discovery Paralegal
Job Summary : We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Discovery Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. This position will be dedicated to handling the discovery process for all personal injury cases within the firm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for answering and propounding discovery requests, preparing meet and confer correspondence, reviewing and preparing document production, and assisting with discovery motions. The ideal candidate should be familiar with civil litigation procedures, including monitoring deadlines and ensuring compliance with all statutory guidelines in both California state and federal courts.
Key Responsibilities :
Discovery Requests :
Prepare, review, and respond to written discovery requests, including interrogatories, requests for production of documents, and requests for admissions.
Propound discovery requests to opposing counsel, ensuring compliance with all deadlines and relevant legal rules.
Meet and Confer :
Handle meet and confer communications with opposing counsel regarding discovery disputes, ensuring that matters are resolved efficiently and professionally.
Document and track all meet and confer discussions to ensure compliance with local and state requirements.
Motions Practice :
Draft and prepare discovery motions, including motions to compel, motions for protective orders, and other discovery-related motions.
Prepare oppositions to motions filed by opposing counsel regarding discovery issues.
Case Management :
Track discovery deadlines, ensuring compliance with court orders and statutory deadlines.
Monitor and update attorneys on discovery progress, identifying potential issues and offering solutions.
Client and Attorney Communication :
Communicate with clients to gather necessary information for discovery responses, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Collaborate closely with attorneys to strategize and prepare for discovery-related matters.
Document Organization and Filing :
Organize and maintain electronic and physical discovery documents in an orderly and efficient manner.
Ensure all discovery documents are filed in accordance with court rules and firm protocols.
Qualifications :
Education & Experience :
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal or associate, with a focus on personal injury and discovery-related tasks.
Knowledge of personal injury law and experience with relevant legal procedures and documentation, including heavy focus on discovery tasks and processes.
Skills & Abilities :
Strong understanding of the discovery process, including knowledge of Federal and State Court discovery rules.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal case management software.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent time management skills and ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Hours and Location
Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm.
Office environment with opportunities for a hybrid schedule.
