Job Summary
Responsible for planning, coordinating and developing the project-specific Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Plan in conjunction with the General Superintendent that incorporates the policies and procedures necessary to deliver the project fully compliant with the contract documents. Manage, supervise, and administer the implementation of the project-specific QA/QC Plan. Provide guidance and serve as a resource to project staff as a whole who are responsible for elements of the QA/QC plan.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Leads all QA/QC phases of the project from procurement, engineering, coordination, installation and turnover.
- Implement project-specific QA/QC Plan in coordination with the project safety plan.
- Continually improve strategies and tools to efficiently and effectively document, track and record compliance with the contract documents.
- Execute the project-specific QA/QC Plan in a manner that engages all project staff, subcontractors, vendors and consultants.
- Solicits, reviews, and audits subcontractor QC plans
- Meets with Subcontractors in special QC kick-off capacity to discuss Subcontractor and Truland QC plans and quality standards for this project in conjunction with Truland Engineering and Field Staff.
- Submits deficiency reports to Owner weekly and monthly as OAC and monthly report attachments.
- Issue weekly update reports indicating non-conforming items of work to responsible parties
- Analyze and report the results from third-party testing and inspections and enter them into ACC.
- Review and understand the Client’s Start Up and Cx specifications and procedures. Assure they are properly integrated into Cx plan and activities and work in tandem with the Cx Manager.
- Research and apply additional QA/QC and Lean procedures to enhance the quality of project delivery.
- Creates checklists as required for inspection of work prior to cover-up/concealment (MEP rough-in, reinforcing steel, and concrete pre-pour)
- Organize and document all OFE Factory Visits.
- Receive and review all start up requirements from each equipment manufacturer
- Participate in respective portions of start-up and training with the Client and Cx Agent as appropriate.
Education & Additional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- 5 years of experience in construction quality control, project management, or a related role.
- In-depth knowledge of construction materials, methods, and standards.
- Strong understanding of quality management principles and industry standards.
- Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
