Job Summary
The Assistant Superintendent will coordinate subcontractors, monitor job site safety and quality, and help resolve issues that arise on-site. This role acts as a bridge between project management and field operations, ensuring smooth execution and adherence to plans. Provides leadership on all coordination of schedule tasks, quality management, project safety, cleanliness / staging, and direction for all sub-trade partner scopes of work. Works closely with project management to facilitate the overall project objectives and is a day-to-day face of McFarland Construction on-site.
Key Responsibilities include :
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and laborers to maintain workflow and productivity.
- Monitor job site safety practices and enforce compliance with safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
- Conduct daily site inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to project specifications.
- Communicate with project management, engineers, and architects to clarify project requirements and resolve on-site issues.
- Maintain accurate daily logs, job photos, and project documentation.
- Assist in reviewing project plans, specifications, and drawings to identify potential challenges or conflicts.
- Track and manage project resources, including materials, labor, and equipment.
- Support the Superintendent in scheduling, planning, and coordinating tasks to meet project timelines.
- Conduct pre-construction meetings with subcontractors to ensure they understand their roles and responsibilities.
- Attend and participate in weekly job site meetings to report progress and discuss upcoming tasks.
- Assist with punch lists, inspections, and close-out activities to ensure project completion.
