Job Summary
The Construction Estimator II is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing project plans, specifications, and other relevant data. This mid-level role requires a strong understanding of construction methodologies, materials, labor costs, and vendor pricing to provide competitive and profitable estimates.
Key Responsibilities include :
- Review project plans, specifications, and contracts to develop comprehensive cost estimates.
- Analyze historical data and market trends to ensure accurate pricing and cost projections.
- Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
- Prepare quantity takeoffs and cost breakdowns for labor, materials, and equipment.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to clarify project details and ensure accuracy in estimates.
- Identify potential risks and cost-saving opportunities in project proposals.
- Assist in preparing bid proposals, including schedules and scope clarifications.
- Maintain and update estimating databases, cost libraries, and unit price records.
- Support contract negotiations by providing detailed cost breakdowns and justifications.
- Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations as needed.
