MJ is seeking a Contract Administrator to assist Project Managers and Senior Leadership to develop, negotiate, and evaluate contracts, assist with risk management, and the continuous improvement of MJ’s business practices. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of contract law, legal terminology, and relevant regulations, work independently, exhibit excellent attention to detail, be able to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders, and be able to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic work environment. The location of this position is flexible depending on qualifications. The successful candidate will report to the Chief Executive Officer of Engineering.
Duties And Responsibilities

Duties And Responsibilities
- Serve as a company-wide resource on contractual and insurance matters.
- Work with Project Managers and Senior Leadership to facilitate preparation of contractual documents (Prime Agreements and Subconsultant Agreements), and associated forms and reports.
- Ensure contracts follow applicable laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and MJ Business office to monitor contract compliance
- Negotiation of contract terms and conditions with clients, sub-consultants, and vendors.
- Monitor compliance with insurance coverage requirements.
- Monitor and assess company risks. Monitor industry trends, legislative and regulatory changes that could affect current and future contracts.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve risk management.
- Develop internal training materials and conduct internal training for Project Managers and Senior Leadership on contracts and risk management.
- Maintain an organized system of physical and digital records.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Finance or related field.
- MBA and/or applicable certifications such as PCM and/or PMP are desirable but not required.
- At least 5 years of experience in contract administration in the AE field, including preparing and reviewing contracts.
- Strong familiarity with A/E field and applicable business and insurance practices.
- Working knowledge of private and public sector A/E contracting practices.
- Proficiency with MS Office.
- Proficiency with Deltek Vantagepoint and Design-Build contract practices is desired but not required.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Project management skills, including scope and fee preparation, invoicing, budget management, subconsultant management, project team management, and client communication.
