Key Responsibilities
- Design Calculations: Assist in performing detailed design calculations, including load calculations in accordance with various building codes such as IBC, AISC, ACI 318, TMS, and ASCE 7.
- Drafting & Design: Contribute to drafting and design work using Revit, helping create structural models and detailed drawings for various projects.
- Structural Analysis: Support engineers in analyzing structural elements using Finite Element Method (FEM) and other structural software tools.
- Load Calculations: Perform load calculations for structures according to multiple building codes and ASCE 7-22, ensuring compliance with current standards.
- BIM Process & Revit Training: Assist the structural team in improving the knowledge base and workflow by providing support with BIM processes and Revit training.
- Collaboration & Drafting: Work with the team to design and draft Revit drawings for various structural projects, contributing to the overall design and project documentation.
- Demolition Drawings, Structural Assessments, and Inspections: Assist with demolition drawings, structural assessments of existing facilities, and participate in site inspections.
- Concrete Foundation & Slab Design: Perform load calculations and design concrete foundations and slabs in accordance with ACI code requirements.
- Modeling & Design Software: Help model and design buildings using ETABS, and design mat foundations using STAAD programs.
Qualified applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Currently enrolled in a Master's degree program or at least the third year of a Bachelor of Science degree in Structural Engineering or a related field.
- Have completed at least one course in structural design.
- Knowledge of structural software, including FEM and Revit.
- Familiarity with BIM technology.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in analysis and problem-solving techniques.
- Ability to learn quickly, take direction, and contribute to team goals.
- Able to meet deadlines and complete assignments on time.
- Duration: 3 months
- Location: Hollywood, Florida
- Compensation: $22 per hour
- Hours: On-site, flexible
- Start Date: Summer 2025 (TBA)
