What Your Day Will Look Like:
The Director of Teaching and Learning collaborates with staff members and the administrative team on a daily basis to ensure the alignment of the District’s curriculum with the appropriate standards and to facilitate the curriculum, assessment, and instruction processes in service of our mission. - Instructional Leadership – Deep understanding of curriculum development, instructional best practices, and assessment strategies to drive student achievement, especially in the area of early literacy.
- Change Management – Skilled at strategically leading, managing, and sustaining change within a school system through informed, collaborative, and transparent decision-making.
- Visionary Thinking – Ability to set and implement a strategic vision for an equitable, multi-level system of support, resulting in an aligned, effective, and accessible curriculum, instruction, and professional development that aligns with the district's strategic plan.
- Collaborative and Trusting Leadership – Ability to establish trusting relationships, engage in difficult conversations, and work effectively with teachers, administrators, and stakeholders to implement programs that enhance student learning.
- Professional Development Expertise – Ability to design and implement engaging and effective training and coaching programs for educators.
- Data-Driven Decision-Making – Skilled in analyzing student performance data to inform instructional improvements and leading staff to do the same.
- Equity and Inclusion Focus – Commitment to fostering equitable learning experiences for all students, including diverse and underserved populations.
- Strong Communication Skills – Able to clearly articulate educational goals, expectations, and strategies to a wide audience using a variety of methods.
- Technology Integration – Knowledge of effectively integrating technology into teaching and learning.
- Knowledge of Educational Policies – Familiarity with local, state, and federal education standards and regulations.
