McFarlane is a rapidly growing 50 years old aviation firm that focuses on the design and manufacture of high-quality aircraft parts within the general aviation and commercial marketplace. We are currently seeking interns to join our Internship Program in Baldwin City, KS, for Summer of 2025. This is an exciting opportunity for hard-working team players who want to make an impact in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment.
Between June and August of 2025, participants will spend approximately 8 weeks fully immersed into the McFarlane Aviation team and culture. The full-time paid internship offers a competitive hourly wage and will allow participants to work alongside our teams to develop skills that contribute directly to the success of the business, take on cross-functional projects, learn how McFarlane is a key player in the aviation industry, and meet passionate, interesting people in the process. From day one, you'll be given hands-on, meaningful work and the opportunity to make a difference!
Internships available: Marketing, Engineering, Operational Excellence, Business/Special Projects
What You'll Do
- Learn about the world of aviation through various training methods, the industry workflow, and business platforms within the organization as assigned during the internship.
- Provide miscellaneous support to our departments and assist with the overall production and/or servicing of our customers while being introduced to the overall operation.
- Gain technical and competency-based skills through formal and informal learning opportunities.
- Complete special projects or assignments that assist leaders and teams in their mission while learning about the corporate environment.
- Network with senior leaders, experienced teammates, and other interns to develop lasting professional connections.
- Receive and provide formal and informal feedback throughout the program.
- Pursue a path of aviation/aerospace/manufacturing industry knowledge and professional development.

What We Look For
- Completion of at least Sophomore year in an accredited college with a major in Engineering, Marketing, or related field.
- A self-starter who is excited to kick off their career even prior to graduation - candidates will thrive on learning new ideas and concepts and growing themselves personally and professionally.
- Natural curiosity and creative approaches to problem solving.
- Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to adjust easily to working well with a variety of workstyles.
- Glass half full, positive attitude and the ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to complete quality work without constant supervision.
- Familiarity and good working knowledge of various Microsoft software applications (Excel, Outlook) and the ability to learn new software systems.
