Position Summary
As Quality Manager, you will lead APS's Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with FAA regulations and company standards. This role is pivotal in overseeing quality inspection processes, training staff, and maintaining high product reliability and performance. A strong attention to detail, leadership ability, and technical acumen are essential for success.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the quality control team, ensuring all incoming and outgoing materials meet APS and FAA standards.
- Interpret and apply engineering drawings, specifications, and purchase order instructions to inspection processes.
- Oversee documentation of inspection results, including logs and reports.
- Ensure First Article Inspections are performed and recorded in accordance with internal and external standards.
- Establish and maintain quality benchmarks for all products in line with organizational goals.
- Perform random audits and inspections to ensure product integrity and consistency.
- Utilize and train staff on calibrated measurement and test equipment, including micrometers, pin gages, calipers, height gages, and CMMs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Maintain awareness of regulatory changes and ensure ongoing compliance with FAA guidelines.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of aerospace manufacturing or quality assurance experience (required).
- Strong , proven understanding of FAA regulations and quality processes.
- Experience with quality inspection tools and techniques (e.g. micrometers, caliper, pin and height gages, dial calipers, etc.)
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical documentation.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, sit, bend, reach, and move throughout the facility.
- Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent visual acuity.
- Regular, reliable, and timely attendance is essential.
