Job Summary:
This is an exciting opportunity for a professional truck driver to join our team as an over the road trucking professional. As a long haul truck driver, you will be responsible for transporting freight across the country in a safe and efficient manner.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Pre-Trip Inspections: Inspect the vehicle and its parts to ensure safe operating conditions before departure and throughout the trip.
- Loading and Unloading: Load and unload freight as required, using equipment properly and maintaining it for performance of duties.
- Delivery and Pickup: Deliver freight to consignees, including oversized loads with specific permit instructions, and pick up freight as required.
- Accident Reporting: Report all accidents, incidents of equipment damage involving the driver or company equipment.
- Maintenance of Records: Maintain trip records as required, including driver logs, fuel purchase records, mileage records, etc.
- Safety Requirements: Ability to sit for extended periods in a truck tractor; walk, bend, reach, push, pull, stoop, squat, and climb as necessary for vehicle inspections.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Certifications: Class A CDL with at least one year of continuous current driving history and verifiable three years of previous driving employment with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Communication: Read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
- Problem-Solving: Solve practical problems and deal with changing situations.
- Teamwork: Perform operations within acceptable quality and time standards.
