Rental/Warehouse Associate

Job Summary:

Represent McFarlane's True Value as a Rental Associate, handling customer rentals efficiently.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Ensure rental items are in clean and operational condition.
• Handle assigned customer service, shipping/delivering and receiving, and tent crew tasks.

Specific Tasks:

• Assist with shipping and receiving.
• Loading and unloading items for customers.
• Loading and unloading deliveries on/off semi-trucks, making deliveries using McFarlanes' vehicle.
• Operating a forklift truck in the warehouse.
• Setting up tents and performing "tent crew" deliveries, as needed.
• Making customer deliveries such as salt, grills, fencing, and large equipment.
• FOLLOWING COMPANY CUSTOMER SERVICE STANDARDS, POLICIES AND PROCEDURES; accountable for all safety procedures.
• Effectively and accurately processing rental agreements with customers by phone and in person.
• Accurately entering information into the rental program (ex: customer name, address, phone, drivers' license, and rental items).
• Ensuring customer understanding of rental rules (ex: date and time due and proper cleaning of rental item).
• Ensuring customer understanding of how rental items operate.
• Checking-out/Checking-in and inspecting rental equipment for damages, defects, or shortages.
• Monitoring equipment and reporting repairs/maintenance as needed; tagging equipment as needed for cleaning/repair; cleaning rental equipment as needed.
• Maintaining clean, safe, and organized work stations (rental desk and service area).
• Providing assistance, performing additional tasks and assignments in all areas of the store as requested by management.
• Working full-time hours-variety of day/evening shifts, including weekends; with open availability.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong communication skills.
• Prior customer service experience.
• Prior forklift experience, preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to move/back-up large trailers.
• Ability to utilize computerized rental system.

Safety Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this position, employee is regularly required to walk, stand; reach and extend to load items or carry items; bend, twist, squat, pull; and talk and hear.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
• Use of telephone, computer, keyboard.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs. on occasion.
• Ability to work on tent crew pounding stakes, carrying poles.
• Must wear PPE while on the Warehouse Floor.
• Demonstrates accountability for all safety procedures.
