Job Description
As a Material Handler/Fork Truck Operator at McFarlane's, you will play a pivotal role in our production process, ensuring the efficient movement of materials throughout the yard and facility. Your responsibilities will include loading and unloading structural steel inventory, stacking and storing steel products, and maintaining a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading structural steel inventory and finished product;
- Moving/maneuvering inventory and finished product around the yard and throughout the facility;
- Stacking and storing steel inventory;
- Ensuring loads are secure throughout handling and movement;
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (preferred);
- Forklift certified or ability to become certified;
- Proficient math skills;
- Valid driver's license (Fork truck requirement);
- Responsible attitude;
- Effective communication skills (both verbal and written);
- Ability to perform all operations within acceptable time standards;
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment;
- Ability to solve practical problems;
