Summary
The Business Development Manager is responsible for developing and executing MCG’s overall commercial strategy, overseeing sales, marketing, and business development functions to drive revenue growth, ensuring the company's commercial activities align with broader business objectives, and positioning the company competitively in the market by identifying new business opportunities
Essential Responsibilities and Oversight of:
Sales Operations
Implement new sales management tools
Formalize sale metrics
Formalize policies and procedures
Further refinement of what a Qualified informal opportunity is
Manage sales metrics
Track sales opportunity counts by formal (RFP) and Qualified informal opportunities
Capture win/loss data
Capture competitive information in each opportunity
Commission management
Determine breakdown of commissions across SMEs when needed
Manage/automate commissions in new sales management tool
Sales Management
Drive revenue growth and accountability of core metrics
Sales Enablement
Elevate technical sales acumen of Product Analyst SMEs
Product Management
Capture opportunities with:
MCG products needed for solution
Educated probabilities by product
Timeline qualification for sale
Pricing management from initial estimate to customer quote
Product Marketing
Creating and implementing comprehensive commercial strategies that maximize revenue and market share, including identifying target markets, pricing strategies, and market penetration plans.
Identify, acquire, and manage all tooling to execute the outbound marketing plan
Outbound Marketing campaign management
Develop messaging
Develop target audience
Develop and execute marketing campaign
Capture and qualify leads for SME sales
Cross Sell/Upsell (internal campaigns)
Capture and maintain white space for each customer (which products do they have and which ones could they use given their business)
Develop methods to more proactively apply sales methods for existing customers outside of the current Care relationships
Internal and External Communications
Reporting and presenting sales plans and results to execs and other parties as necessary.
Serve as a credible senior leader on investor calls, telling a compelling story of MCG’s value, backed by defendable core metrics.
Qualifications:
Proven track record of driving revenue growth and achieving sales targets.
Strong understanding of digital marketing, demand generation, and marketing automation tools.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to think strategically while executing tactically in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
Strategic thinking and planning
Financial acumen and budgeting skills
Preferred Skills:
Experience managing both inbound and outbound marketing plans.
Expertise in sales CRM (HubSpot, Salesforce, etc.) and marketing automation platforms.
Deep knowledge of B2B SaaS sales cycles and customer lifecycle management.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This role will oversee the Sales and Business Development department.
