Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Reads and follows recipes precisely and consistently
- Measures raw ingredients using weight and balance scales (not digital scales)
- Mixes ingredients and understands different mixing methods and baking terminology
- Prepares and creates raw products (dough, batter, etc)
- Bakes products ensuring they are not over or underbaked and have the correct product appearance, taste, and texture for sales
- Decorates and assembles cakes and cupcakes
- Cleans and maintains work area, equipment, pans, and bakery environment to ensure health standards are met
- Assists with store inventory of raw ingredients and bakery sales products
- May be required to help front end team take customer orders, complete cash register and credit card transactions, and product packaging
Required Experience
- Experience with creating, producing, and baking from scratch three or more of the following: cookies, Danish pastries, puff pastry, cakes, breads, pies, and other traditional bakery products
- Highly proficient with addition, subtraction, and ratios for scaling recipe sizes
- Work under tight deadlines, within time constraints, deadlines, and in a fast paced environment
- Multi-task (examples: scale out ingredients while intermittently checking products in oven and pulling trays when ready) quickly change tasks to adapt on the fly to changing priorities and job requirements (example: correct a cake order or remake a customer order that was misplaced)
- Work as a team, openingly assist others, and work individually without hands on or one on one guidance
- Highly reliable and time efficient with adaquate vehicle transportation
- Current Kitsap County food handlers permit is required at start of job
Hours:
- Able to regularly work hours between 2AM and 3PM, Tuesday-Saturday (8-10 hour shifts)
- Depending on bakery orders, may be required to work additional days and/or longer hours as necessary for holidays or other special scenarios
Physical Requirements:
- Stand for long periods of time, up to 8 hour shifts, without sitting
- Lift up to 50lbs (flour and sugar bags, large mixing bowls)
- Use your hands to perform repetitive tasks (mixing, scooping, rolling, folding)
Note: Willing to provide on the job training to the right candidate.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
