Requirements: Candidates must currently be certified as a Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor. The preferred candidate will facilitate Red Cross lifeguard, First-Aid/CPR/AED and babysitting course certification trainings.
This position will work very part-time, typically weekends or school holidays, as classes are posted for lifeguarding, community CPR and babysitting. The ideal candidate will also be available from 5pm-7pm on multiple Sundays per month to support lifeguard in-service training as an assistant.
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching Red Cross courses to individuals of various skill levels, ensuring they are well-prepared to respond in emergency situations. This role requires strong communication skills, a passion for safety, and the ability to engage with participants effectively.
Duties
- Conduct Red Cross training sessions for diverse groups, including lifeguards, swim instructors, and community members.
- Stay up to date with training materials to ensure compliance with current safety standards and best practices.
- Provide hands-on demonstrations of first aid techniques and CPR procedures.
- Assess participant performance during practical exercises and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of participant attendance and course completion.
- Maintain and implement safety standards and procedures at all times to ensure a well-run program in a safe, positive environment
- Promote guest services by fostering a welcoming atmosphere during training sessions.
Experience
- 1 year as a Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor is preferred.
- Certification as a Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor is required; additional certifications or experience in aquatics or first-aid/CPR is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage participants effectively in both group settings and one-on-one interactions.
