Hourly rate range:$23.00-$28.00.

The role of Absence Management Specialist will be responsible for supporting the full life cycle of leave of absence and on-the-job injuries, ensuring compliance with all state and federal laws and company policies. The ideal candidate for this role will have a background in Human Resources, specifically in Absence Management or Leaves Administration. The candidate must have a strong work ethic, excellent organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality. This position reports under the Human Resources Programs and Operations organization.

Do you match this skillset?

  • Manage the end-to-end process of employee leave of absences, including FMLA, ADA, state specific leaves, and other company sponsored leave programs.
  • Support Leave requests, providing employees guidance and procedures on how to navigate full cycle of Leave from initiation to return to work.
  • Coordinate with the Payroll & Finance Systems team to ensure pay and use of PTO (or other leave codes) is reflective of the actual leave schedule and collaborate on the true-up and reconciliation process when the employee returns to work.
  • Review and process leave requests, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Working knowledge of multi-state leave of absence laws and regulations, as well as Workers Compensation policies.
  • Communicate leave policies, procedures, and benefits to employees, managers and HR business partners.
  • Coordinate with employees, managers, and other departments to manage and track leave status and timelines.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of employee leaves, ensuring a high level of confidentiality.
  • Work closely with managers to facilitate communication and address any issues related to the employee's leave.
  • Stay current on federal, state and local leave laws and regulations.
  • Develop reports on leave utilization, trends and related metrics.
  • Analyze data to identify patterns and recommend improvements to the leave process.
  • Other HR Operations Programs projects as assigned.
  • Travel may be required up to 10% of the time.

Must haves to join our team:

  • 3 or more years in Human Resources with direct experience in Absence Management or Leaves Administration.
  • Knowledge of leave management practices across multiple states including California, Washington, Oregon, and Arizona.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable working with operations teams and union environment.
  • Able to work varied shifts; weekends and holidays, we like to celebrate and have fun with our family and friends, we simply adjust when we do these things and don't mind doing so.
  • Obtain and maintain an airport security clearance, customs seal, and/or USPS security clearance including background criminal history check, drug screen, and fingerprinting is required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. or disclose their compensation or the compensation of other employees or applicants are also protected by law.
  • A valid driver's license with a good driving record is always required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and one of the following documents in order to obtain a Port Badge and US Customs Security clearance.
    • Original or certified copy of a birth certificate
    • Unexpired US Passport
    • Permanent Resident Card
    • Unexpired US Territory Passport and I-94
  • Airport SIDA Badge Requirements Important update for non-crew employees working at an airport or maintenance hangar: Employees will be required to obtain a SIDA badge provided by the airport authority and maintain good standing in order to keep their SIDA badge. Hourly Range:

The full hourly range for this position is $22.46-$31.45 per hour.

The current hourly hiring target for this position is $23.00 - $28.00 per hour.
