Bay Area Training Specialist

The Training Specialist contributes to the success of McGee Air Services and our customers by ensuring that our team members meet all requirements, that we maintain excellent documentation of training records, and that we continuously seek to improve upon skills and knowledge for our operations team members. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of training for their assigned station, monitoring effectiveness of training, and will identify and drive ongoing improvements.

While this role will be based at the San Jose Mineta International Airport (SJC), the responsibilities will extend beyond SJC and play a critical role in supporting our Bay Area operations, to include San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and Oakland International Airport (OAK). The successful candidate will collaborate closely with teams at all three airports to ensure that our regional training strategies and real time training operations run smoothly and efficiently. This role will deliver efficient coordination between all three locations, sharing best practices, and ensuring best-in-class training delivery. Additionally, there will travel required between all three airports as needed to attend regional meetings, and contribute to initiatives that enhance the overall performance of our Bay Area training operations. While this role will have a home base is San Jose, you'll be at the heart of our multi-airport operations, ensuring that we deliver the same level of excellence at each location.

Shift Info : Our operational teams work around the clock 365 days per year. Shifts will vary based off specific roles, we work hard and play hard too. Our team members adapt to celebrating Holiday's or Events on different days to ensure a strong operational performance.

Do you match this skillset?...

  • Facilitate training sessions, both in the classroom, and on-the-job training (OJT)
  • Mentor and coach team members in the operation, and explain why procedures and policies are in place to raise the knowledge and awareness level of team members
  • Conduct observations and audits to ensure training effectiveness and compliance
  • Ensure training record retention is maintained within compliance and alignment with McGee and customer expectations
  • Ensure completion of monthly Greenlight completion and prepare required status updates and reports
  • Identify the need for remedial / refresher training in the event that deficiencies are observed and develop tools to improve skills and behaviors
  • Exemplify McGee Air Services' values at all times, and set a great example by demonstrating correct safety and operational procedures at all times
  • Support Safety, Compliance, and other initiatives and tasks as assigned, ranging from frontline work to miscellaneous station support functions
  • Schedule and prepare training location(s) and materials and ensure that students are provided with pre-work and location details in order to provide an excellent learning experience and environment
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record as required by location
  • Knowledge of operation of industrial equipment and previous experience preferred High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds on a frequent basis
  • Ability to obtain and maintain airport security clearance, customs seal, and / or USPS security clearance including background criminal history check, drug screen and fingerprinting required by specific work assignment.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. or disclose their compensation or the compensation of other employees or applicants are also protected by law.
  • A valid driver's license with a good driving record is always required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and one of the following documents in order to obtain a Port Badge and US Customs Security clearance.
  • Original or certified copy of a birth certificate

  • Unexpired US Territory Passport and I-94
  • Airport SIDA Badge Requirements Important update for non-crew employees working at an airport or maintenance hangar : Employees will be required to obtain a SIDA badge provided by the airport authority and maintain good standing in order to keep their SIDA badge.   • 1-3 years of aviation experience with proven skills in station operations required
  • Demonstrated skills in proactive and honest communication, providing direction and allowing team members to execute tasks, setting clear expectations and holding others accountable required
  • Proven ability to provide specific and constructive feedback as well as positive recognition
  • Promote and maintain a culture of safety at all times
  • Thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment to meet and exceed operational targets while maintaining service, timeline, and compliance requirements
  • Strong active listening skills required
  • Self-motivated, with proven ability to lead and direct the work of others
  • Ability to understand and interpret flight schedules and airline flight destination information.
  • Hourly Range :

    The hiring range for this position is expected to be $30.80-$41.06 per hour . The current full salary rate for this position is $30.80-$41.06 per hour .
