Elementary (K - 5) Math Instructional Facilitator
Job Title: Math Instructional Facilitator
Reports To: Building Principal, Curriculum Coordinator, and Superintendent
Summary:
The Math Instructional Facilitator provides leadership, support, and professional development to teachers in grades K-5 to improve student learning in mathematics. This role focuses on implementing effective math instruction, supporting teachers in pedagogy, differentiating instruction, and analyzing student data to inform instructional decisions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Instructional Leadership:
Lead professional development sessions on effective math instructional practices, including:
Implementing high-quality math curricula (e.g., iReady Classroom)
Utilizing effective instructional strategies (e.g., number talks, CGI and ECM strategies, problem-solving, small group instruction)
Differentiating instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners
Using formative and summative assessment data to inform instruction
Integrating technology effectively into math instruction
Model effective math instruction in classrooms through co-teaching, demonstrations, and observations.
Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement common assessments and grade-level pacing guides.
Data Analysis and Support:
Analyze student assessment data (e.g., standardized tests, classroom assessments) to identify areas of strength and weakness.
Provide targeted support and interventions for struggling learners.
Assist teachers in developing and implementing effective intervention strategies.
Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed.
Curriculum and Materials:
Stay current on best practices in elementary mathematics education.
Assist in the selection and implementation of high-quality math curriculum materials and resources.
Ensure the appropriate use of math manipulatives and technology in the classroom.
Professional Development:
Plan and facilitate professional development sessions for teachers on a variety of math-related topics.
Encourage and support teacher collaboration and peer observation.
Assist teachers in developing and implementing professional learning plans.
Communication and Collaboration:
Communicate effectively with teachers, administrators, and parents regarding student progress and instructional needs.
Collaborate with other members of the school's instructional team (e.g., special education teachers, interventionists).
Build and maintain positive relationships with teachers and staff.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in education or a related field required.
Master's degree in education, mathematics education, or a related field preferred.
Valid Arkansas teaching license required.
Minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience in elementary mathematics preferred.
Strong understanding of elementary math concepts and pedagogy.
Experience with a variety of math curricula and instructional strategies.
Proven ability to analyze data and use it to inform instruction.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff.
Strong technology skills.
Passion for improving student learning in mathematics.
