Program Details

This is an exciting opportunity to join McGill and Partners as part of our US Intern Program. The Program is designed to help you gain practical work experience and core technical skills that will enable you to build the skills required in your actuarial career within the insurance industry. You will have an opportunity to join a dynamic, collaborative team as well as learn from some of the most experienced (re)insurance actuaries and brokers in the market.

You will become fully immersed in our Casualty broking team in Chicago, IL with additional exposure to our Capital Solutions team. Not only will you have access to our employee network, you will get exposure to client work that will help you to develop new connections, not just for today but for your career ahead.

Your impact

You will work closely with colleagues across all our locations; primarily focused on actuarial responsibilities for our US Casualty team

You will support your team in the development of our tools and models, building and understanding our client's risk profiles, and producing analyses to assist in negotiation with markets.

You will have responsibilities for collecting, tracking, and analyzing data and providing your team with support wherever required

IT literacy : You are comfortable with common software (including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel), and have a desire to advance your capability in these areas.

Character : You want to work in a supportive environment where integrity, collaboration, and dependability is expected.

Qualifications

Required :

Enrolled in a 2- or 4-year accredited college / university with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (out of 4.0) or better

Ability to commute to our Chicago office 3 days per week

Right to work in the US

Experience with MS Office Applications, especially Excel

Proficiency in SQL and VBA is preferred
