The Survey Project Manager assists the Practice Area Leader in leadership and management of the survey division ensuring the quality and accuracy of survey data, calculations, and reports. They possess knowledge of land surveying principles and practices and are responsible for the effective schedules, contracts, budgets, and accuracy of all projects.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and assist with the supervision of McGill survey department activities.
- Communicate with clients, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to establish project requirements, specifications, and expectations.
- Assist with survey proposals, contracts, budgets, and schedules.
- Perform research and calculations to prepare jobs for field surveying activities.
- Perform survey adjustments and analysis of field data gathered by McGill survey crews.
- Perform complex surveying tasks such as boundary determination and surface modeling.
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of survey data, calculations, and reports.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff.
- Review and certify survey drawings and reports.
- Manage and maintain survey equipment, software, and records.
- Be a morale booster.
- Serves on Committees and Teams as requested by management.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
