OrthoNOW is a network of immediate orthopedic care clinics. We approach things differently than most healthcare offices, and are looking
for a new team member to help provide excellent patient care in our Casper clinic.
As a Medical Assistant/Receptionist, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation our immediate orthopedic care clinic. You will support providers and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. This position is Monday – Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Support:
- Interview patients and document basic medical history
- Greeting patients professionally both in person and on the phone
- Update medical records
- Assist in arranging scheduling at referred services
- Check in patients and update patients' charts
- Assist during medical examinations as well as casting, splinting, and removal
- Administer medications and injections as permitted by state laws and under the direction of the surgeon.
- Assist with obtaining testing such as X-rays, blood draws, or other diagnostic evaluations, vitals, and any other needs.
- Handle receivable and payable accounts for self-pay patients and collect copayments and deductibles for patients with insurance
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
Administrative Duties:
- Optimizing provider schedules and patient satisfaction with efficient scheduling
- Maintaining office inventory and equipment by anticipating supply needs and expediting supply orders
- Update medical records as well as coordinate medical record requests and retrievals
- Handle receivable and payable accounts for self-pay patients and collect copayments and deductibles for patients with insurance
- Assist with patient payment estimations and insurance needs
Requirements and skills
- Proven working experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably with orthopedic care experience.
- Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Social perceptiveness and service oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software
- Certification in Medical Assistance
