Job Description:
MKCI is a comprehensive civil defense litigation firm with a proven track record of successfully defending clients in high-stakes cases across various product liability/toxic tort and general liability matters. Although our attorneys are skilled in handling diverse legal matters, our expertise lies in litigating and trying complex cases related to product liability (including asbestos and talc claims), premises liability, transportation, public entities, construction defects, labor law, insurance coverage, environmental issues, and sexual abuse (negligent hiring/supervision).
We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorneys to join our dynamic team in our New York City office. Successful candidates will work closely with senior attorneys to provide high-quality legal representation to our clients. The positions offer an excellent opportunity for professional growth and development within a supportive and collegial environment.
Responsibilities Include:
- Attend depositions and court appearances.
- Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery.
- Assist in the preparation of cases for trial.
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in legal matters.
- Collaborate with colleagues on case strategy and management.
- Conduct legal research and analysis.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to practice in the State of New York.
- 2 to 5 years of experience.
- Previous Civil Defense Litigation experience preferred.
- Superior analytical skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Strong worth ethic and commitment to client service.
