Job Description:
MKCI is a comprehensive defense litigation firm with a proven track record of successfully defending clients in high-stakes cases across various product liability/toxic tort and general liability matters. Our attorneys are skilled in handling diverse legal matters, but our expertise lies in litigating and trying complex cases related to product liability (including asbestos and talc claims), premises liability, transportation, public entities, construction defects, labor law, insurance coverage, environmental issues, and sexual abuse (negligent supervision/hiring).
We seek a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our dynamic team in Livingston, New Jersey. The successful candidate will work closely with senior attorneys to provide high-quality legal representation to our clients.
Responsibilities Include:
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery.
- Attend depositions and court appearances.
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in legal matters.
- Collaborate with colleagues on case strategy and management.
- Conduct legal research and analysis.
- Assist in the preparation of cases for trial.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to practice in the State of New Jersey.
- 1 to 5 years of experience.
- Previous Civil Defense Litigation experience preferred.
- Superior analytical skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to client service.
