What are the responsibilities and job description for the Civil Litigation Attorney (3-5 years) position at McGlinchey Stafford?
McGlinchey Stafford seeks a litigator with 3-5 years of experience handling civil litigation including, but not limited to initiating new matters on behalf of a diverse portfolio of clients, filing of dispositive and non-dispositive motions, issuing and responding to discovery requests, and court appearances throughout the state of Washington (both in person and virtual) in high volume litigation practice. This role also includes counseling cannabis industry clients through regulatory and compliance issues in collaboration with the firm’s multidisciplinary team of attorneys across several practice areas and geographical regions to join our Seattle office. This is an excellent opportunity for attorneys looking to further develop their skills while receiving training and mentorship from experienced attorneys. Flexible schedules are available. While we encourage our attorneys to have a regular presence in the office to promote collegiality and our firm culture, our remote work policy provides for some remote work options.
Candidates must be licensed in Washington and that license must be active and in good standing.
We seek candidates with:
- 3- 5 years of litigation experience with a specific focus on civil litigation including but not limited initiating new matters, filing of motions, drafting and responding to discovery, court appearances, and detail-oriented research and problem-solving for high-volume litigation practice.
- A current license to practice law in the state of Washington is required, must be active and in good standing;
- Excellent legal research, writing, and advocacy skills;
- Ability to draft briefs, pleadings, motions, contracts, affidavits, and settlement agreements;
- Experience gathering discovery and taking and defending depositions; and
- Ability to distill research into meaningful and persuasive written work product and to work meticulously to ensure the quality of work product.

- Confidence in serving as a representative of clients and our firm while meeting and conferring with opposing counsel;
- Excellent analytical skills as well as clear and concise verbal and written communication skills; and

COMPENSATION
The annualized salary range for this position in our Seattle office is $110,000 to $150,000. Individual salary offered will be based on the candidate’s education, training, years of practice, experience in previous positions, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Attorneys may be eligible for discretionary performance bonus.
