Summary:
Start your insurance career as a McGowan Program Administrators Umbrella Associate Underwriter! Insurance is a steady, ever-growing industry that needs young, motivated professionals. In the Associate Underwriter position, you will learn the basics of underwriting for the commercial umbrella liability line of business. Underwriting is a fitting choice for individuals who enjoy using critical thinking and logic, as you will be analyzing the safety and potential profitability of apartments, condominiums, offices, and shopping centers using applications, claims history, internet research, and department guidelines. This position is hybrid with flexible work-from-home days, health benefits, and in-department growth opportunities. Insurance experience is welcome but not required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review applications and claims history to determine insurance eligibility.
- Research crime history and maintenance of buildings using online tools.
- Calculate new or renewal premiums using approved rating metrics.
- Enhance underwriting skillset and insurance knowledge through self-study and group training.
- Communicate with insurance brokers via phone and email to maintain professional relationships.
- Maintain documentation on each new or renewal account to summarize underwriting process.
- Meet monthly production goals in accordance with department guidelines.
- Other duties, projects, tasks, and responsibilities as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Insurance Background (preferred).
- Insurance industry knowledge (preferred).

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Suites.
Job Type: Full-time, 40 hours a week.
Schedule: 8:15am – 5:00pm, Monday – Friday.
