Summary:
A Commercial P&C Producer is a member of the retail brokerage team whose primary role is to solicit, market and bind new commercial P&C business and renewal accounts. A Producer uses independent judgment and discretion for his/her activities and is fully responsible for a variety of duties including, but not limited to, the following: fostering the growth of carrier and retail relationships and assisting the Managing Director in complying with Brokerage Procedures and Guidelines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Solicit, Market, Negotiate, Broker, and Bind accounts according to division Procedure Guidelines:
o Ability to work efficiently while still correctly handling all required tasks unsupervised.
o Ability handles all aspects of brokerage operations (including but not limited to processing, negotiating, communicating, tracking, etc.) independently.
· Demonstrate technical knowledge of concepts, terms, and overall policy knowledge.
o CPCU/ RPLU Tests.
o Policy comparisons.
o Conference calls.
o Involvement with claim advocacy if necessary.
· Maintain & cultivate ongoing partnerships with existing Carrier Partners.
o Build and strengthen carrier relationships by attending carrier functions, dinners, meetings, training, etc.
· Maintain & strengthen ongoing partnerships with existing Retail Partners.
· Work with and assist when needed with existing brokerage staff.
o Stepping in to assist brokerage staff with carrier placements, product knowledge, negotiations, etc.
o Mediate issues that may arise (with retailer and/or underwriter) among the brokerage staff as it relates to the placement of an account.
· Assist Managing Director:
o Provide input as it relates to Brokerage Staff Performance reviews.
o Participate in the expansion of Carrier & Product base.
o Assist in the review of Brokerage Procedure Guidelines / Best Practices.
· Follow all policies and procedures according to division Procedure Guidelines.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
- Experience in insurance industry.
- Insurance license (P&C license required within 6 months of hire).
