Upfit Technician

McGrath Automotive is seeking a skilled and motivated Upfit Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude and experience working with vehicle wiring systems. As an Upfit Technician, you will be responsible for installing and modifying various vehicle equipment and accessories to meet the specific needs of our customers. This position requires a keen eye for detail, the ability to troubleshoot and solve complex issues, and the skill to work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform upfitting tasks including installation and modification of vehicle accessories and equipment (e.g., lights, racks, toolboxes, electrical systems, etc.)
• Work with electrical wiring systems, including the installation of wiring harnesses, relays, and connectors
• Ensure all installations are done to manufacturer specifications and local safety standards
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and mechanical issues with vehicles

Qualifications:

• Strong mechanical skills and hands-on experience with vehicle systems
• Previous experience working with vehicle electrical systems and wiring
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics
• Experience with tools and equipment necessary for vehicle upfitting (e.g., drills, lifts, soldering tools, etc.)
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with others
