What are the responsibilities and job description for the New Patient Referral Coordinator position at McGreevy NeuroHealth?
McGreevy NeuroHealth is an Interventional Pain Management and Neurology private practice/outpatient clinic seeking (1) New Patient/Worker's Compensation Coordinator for a Full-Time on site/in-office position in our World Golf Village, Saint Augustine location. Interested candidates must have previous experience in healthcare.
Essential Functions
- Review all incoming referrals from doctor's offices, case managers/adjusters, and incoming calls from individuals who would like to become a new patient
- Complete all the necessary demographic, insurance, and authorizations needed prior to scheduling the patient
- Schedule various appointments associated with the referral - new patient, labs, diagnostic testing, and surgical procedures
- Maintain a working knowledge on different insurance types - HMO's, PPO's, Advantage Plans, VA, Medicare, etc.
- Verify insurance benefits and eligibility
- Obtain and update all continuation of care referrals on current patients.
- Communicate with patients, providers, other referral coordinators to obtain missing information needed to complete the new patient appointment
- Keep organization and stats of incoming referrals.
- Maintain working knowledge of referral and authorization requirements based on payer specific guidelines
