What are the responsibilities and job description for the Press Operator - 2nd Shift position at McGregor Metalworking Companies?
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Operate various metal stamping presses including the transfer systems for the production of a product. Maintains a log of the piece count, quality measures, and traceability.
REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor
SUPERVISION GIVEN: None.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Requires frequent bending, stooping, stretching, prolonged standing. May be required to lift up to 25 pounds continuously throughout an eight (8) hour shift. Requires normal vision and hearing range. Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate production machinery or other production related functions.
- Process components as assigned and place in proper packaging as specified by customer in production packets (tubs, skids, boxes, etc.)
- Periodically checks for quality of product and maintains proper reports
- Detects and reports defective components or questionable conditions to the production coordinator or quality department.
- Regulates machinery by setting and adjusting controls/
- Determines sequence of operations by studying production packets, blueprints, work orders, etc.
- Documents and reports any issues regarding equipment.
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area and follows prescribed safety regulations.
- Perform duties in a safe manner with attention to quality.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Prior experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge of inspection and quality measurement devices, including micrometers, calipers, etc.
- Some blueprint reading knowledge required.
- Steel-toed shoes and safety glasses required while performing duties in production areas.
- Maintain organized schedules and filing
- Some computer literacy and data entry knowledge.
