Classroom Behavior Assistant
Area of Need: Napa
McGrew Behavior Education Services provides therapeutic behavior support services for school age students having a developmental disability or other health impairment. Support environments may include classroom, transportation, and community. Services incorporate behavior consultation, 1:1 program support, program development, assessment, and other Behavioral Services as needed. Positive behavior support interventions are aimed at assisting students in achieving to their full potentials, and to promote inclusion in the least restrictive environments. Emphasis is placed on methods of Applied Behavior Analysis, and supervision is provided by Master’s Level Behavior Specialists, Board Certified Behavior Analysts, and Licensed Mental Health Professionals.
Classroom Behavior Assistants work with students having Autism, other Developmental and Physical Disabilities, and Emotional/Behavioral challenges. Classroom Behavior Assistants are directly supervised by Senior Level Therapists (Classroom Behavior Specialists) who are responsible for development and oversight of Functional Analyses and Program Plans. Classroom Behavior Assistants work directly with identified students in their classrooms and other school sites to implement Behavior Plans in the context of their educational setting. Classroom Behavior Assistants utilize principles and techniques of Behavior Analysis to promote and enhance student engagement in their educational programs. Classrooms Behavior Assistants are responsible for providing feedback to the Behavior Specialist regarding student progress toward behavioral goals, including taking accurate formal data on behavioral targets developed by the Behavior Support Team. All Behavior Team Members must maintain professional, respectful, and collaborative demeanor and be able to work cooperatively with students, social workers, teachers, counselors, parents, instructional aides, etc.

Classroom Behavior Assistant Requirements:
- High School diploma (or equivalent) required
- Current CA driver’s license
- Reliable transportation and current insurance
- TB clearance
- Successful completion of a LiveScan
- Passion to help others and their families
- Physical requirements vary and are based on specific client assignments. You may be asked to engage in any of the following: push, pull, lift up to 35 pounds, and move quickly, according to client needs. It is necessary to be able to sit on the floor, stoop, stand, walk, and run.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's Degree: Psychology, Special Education, ABA, Child Development
- 2 Years related experience, working with individuals w/ disabilities preferred
- Bilingual in Tagalog or Spanish
Training and Support:
- 40 hours Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Training (completed within 60 days of hire) as required.
- 12 hours in-house training and orientation to ABA Service Providers (completed upon hire)
