Position Summary
Responsible for purchasing all types of bearing and power transmission products for stock as well as daily buys. Request quotations from suppliers. Provide pricing, product availability and delivery information. Negotiate and administer purchase orders. Negotiate pricing and stocking issues with vendors. Expedite and reschedule purchase orders as needed. Verify and resolve discrepancies of purchase orders. Expedite overdue purchase orders. Maintain pricing library and inform branches of price increases. Process rebates from suppliers.
Responsibilities

- Every employee will be assigned regular working hours. However, each employee will be expected to be flexible and work overtime with little or no notice to meet customer requirements.
- Employees are not allowed to operate any vehicles, forklifts, or shop equipment unless authorized to do so.
- Maintain a high level of cooperation between all external and internal customers.
Plan/Forecast:
- Review and update lead times.
- Be aware of best buy programs within McGuire Bearing Company and minimums.
- Review RRAR (Recommended Replenishment Action Report)
- Review Past-due P.O. report.
- Review Low Stock Report.
- Review New Item report.
- Review Customer Order at Risk report.
Purchase/Stock Transfer:
- Review competitive quotes, pricing.
- Review branch availability.
- Determine maximum value: quality divided by price.
- Create Purchase Orders in our computer system.
- Review acknowledgments from suppliers.
- Update computer due dates.
- Coordinate pick-ups with the warehouse on local purchases.
Resolve Problems:
- Maintain supplier relationships.
- Expedite purchase orders.
- Resolve shipping/receiving discrepancies, pricing, freight, quality.
- Issue debit memos.
- Process rebates from suppliers.
- Offer alternative sources as needed.
Stock Transfers:
- Enter warehouse transfers to transfer inventory from other warehouses.
Vendor Orders:
- Obtain price and delivery for order inquiries.
- Enter item IDs on the system.
- Negotiate the best price and delivery from vendors for purchase orders.
- Follow up on overdue items due from vendors.
- Research errors in price involving vendors.
- Correct pricing errors.
Returns/Price Corrections:
- Obtain RGAs (Returned Goods Authorizations) for goods to be returned to vendors.
- Request price corrections as per quote.
- Request (issue) debit memos for returned goods or price corrections.
Freight:
- Add freight charges to customer orders on the system.
- Determine the least expensive or appropriate mode of transportation.
- File claims on damaged or lost freight from freight carriers.

- This is a full-time position.
- Hours are generally 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday.
Requirements
- Experience with computers and general office equipment.
- Basic accounting, math, English, and writing skills.
- Must be self-motivated with good communication skills.
- Need to be detail-oriented, as well as multi-task oriented.
- Good problem-solving and negotiating skills are essential.
- Must have good product knowledge and be team-oriented.
