Job Summary
The Accounts Payable Specialist processes invoices supports field management and other team members to ensure that invoices are approved and paid accurately and on time
Reports to
Controller
Key Communication Partners
AP Supervisor, Accounting Assistant, Project Managers, Project Engineers, Shop Assistant, Warehouse Manager, and any invoice approvers
Typical Duties
- Input invoices into Vista and route them to the correct personnel for approval
- Address invoices with approval issues (Missing information, rejections, reroute to correct PM/PE)
- Assist AP Supervisor with PM's and PE's to reconcile overdue or lost invoices in a timely manner
- Perform weekly edits
- Research vendor statements for missing invoices
- Request W-9 for new vendors
- Perform special assignments, studies, reports, and analysis as requested
- Provide periodic relief to the company switchboard operations
- Maintain good relationships with vendors to resolve disputes and lost invoices. We want vendors to believe and spread the word that our company is one of the best, most reasonable companies they have ever worked with

Education and Experience: high school diploma or GED preferred
Language Skills: must be able to read and write in English
Mathematical Skills: understanding of accounting principles and in the practice of daily accounting functions
Reasoning Ability: apply common sense understanding to carry out multiple step instructions. Deal with standardized situations with occasional variables
Computer Skills: ten-key by touch; must type at least 40 wpm
Certificates, Licenses, and Registration: none required for this job

Compensation:
$26 - $30 per hour, based on skills experience and knowledge
