Essential Job Functions And Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Teach five Art sections each semester: Two in Art History and three in Art Appreciation, generally .
- Be available to in-person courses as scheduled.
- Assist in curriculum development through preparation of additional courses or seminars consistent with the needs of the college and the community.
- Participate as a faculty member in college governance, advisement of students, on college committees, and in continuing professional development.
- Provide appropriate cooperative assistance to the faculty members of the Art and Design Department, within the Arts and Humanities Division and the faculty and staff at large in striving for educational excellence.
- Participation in assessment of learning at the classroom, course, departmental, and college level.
- A master's degree in the discipline or a master's degree and 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline and demonstrated experience teaching Art History and/or Art Appreciation at the foundations level, preferably in a community college setting .
- Coursework in a variety of Art History topics
- Understanding of and commitment to community college mission and students.
