The Instructor will assess student learning to ensure student success, staying up-to-date with current and emerging trends in the discipline.

Instructor of Respiratory Care Program Chair Expectations:
- Develop the Respiratory Care curriculum, collaborate in laboratory space development, and purchasing equipment.
- Maintain program accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).
- Conduct program, course, and student outcomes assessment.
- Support and advise students on admission and continuation in the program.
- Establish relationships with the Respiratory Care advisory committee and cooperating agencies and clinical partners.
- Develop policies and procedures for the program.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution recognized by the US Department of Education.
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
- Current state license (if not an Illinois license, the ability to obtain within three months of employment).
- Minimum of four years of experience as a RRT, including two years of clinical respiratory care.
- Minimum of two years of experience teaching as an appointed faculty member or clinical instructor/preceptor.
Desired Qualifications:
- Masters degree from an accredited institution recognized by the US Department of Education.
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
- Current state license (if not an Illinois license, the ability to obtain within three months of employment).
